AGRU Pipes, Valves and Agru Pipe Fittings

AGRU Kunststofftechnik GmbH is an internationally recognised leader in the manufacture of thermoplastic piping systems. With headquarters in Austria, and production and distribution facilities worldwide, AGRU products are utilised in all spheres of industry.

AGRU piping systems are manufactured from Polypropylene, PVDF, Polyethylene, and ECTFE materials, and their range also includes sheets, rods, bars and concrete protective linings.

Agru is a brand of plastic material, made by a large plastics company who supply a wide range of specialist pipes for water supply, industrial applications, environmental protection and hydro-transport systems.

Agru products are manufactured from the highest quality raw materials by expertly skilled technicians using innovative injection moulding technology and high quality stainless steel to produce the best molded plastic pipe fittings available. The raw materials used to manufacture Agru plastic are new generation PPI and NSF materials.

Agru pipe tubing, fittings, valves and specialist units are all available online from IPS Flow systems.

Advantages of Agru pipes

  1. Flexibility: they are more flexible than other materials and this reduces handling, laying and installation costs.
  2. Lightness: Agru is lighter than the older alternative, metal pipes.
  3. Chemical resistance: they are non-corrosive, are not affected by saline solutions and will not support the growth of microbes.
  4. Very good weldability: these pipes can be joined by buttfusion welding and electro fusion welding, creating a leak proof system. And, Agru pipes can be joined via heat fusion to any other pipe manufactured from a similar resin.
  5. Hard wearing: Agru is abrasion resistant making it suitable for slurry transport.

There are many applications for Agru piping, across a number of industries:

Piping for the semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries
Agru pipes can be used in the distribution of ultra-pure water in the semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries. This industry is growing and so is the demand for this kind of piping. This material is the best in the industry for physical, mechanical and electrical properties.

Industrial piping
Industrial piping systems require a large number and variety of pipes fittings, valves and special units which must all be capable of transporting aggressive media. This includes corrosive effluents of chemicals, acids, alkalis and treated radioactive materials. If a lower quality pipe is used, leaking and contamination is risked.
In power plants Agru pipes are used to convey cooling water and also to remover ash slurry.

In air conditioning
Ducts for ventilation can be easily and effectively constructed from Agru pipes due to their great weldablity, which makes them leak proof.

Piping for the food industry
Agru is also suitable for piping foods, edible oils, pulps, milk and other liquid foods in the food industry.

Piping for the environmental protection
Agru pipes are resistant to bacteria and are chemically inert. Making them perfect for environmental applications such as dust suppression systems, industrial treatment plants and water treatment plants. They are also suitable for the drainage of sewers, degassing pipes in waste disposal facilities, and for effluent marine outfalls.

Hydro transport systems
Another application for argu pipes is hydro transport systems; this is where water is used to transport fine waste materials to a location where they can be disposed of. For materials such as boiler ash, slurries of iron ore, fly ash, sand, and slurry disposal a hard wearing pipe is essential as they are materials which are very abrasive –Agru pipes fit this description well.
