Where CPVC Should Not Be Used

In our previous issue we provided some simple guidelines on where CPVC fire sprinkler systems can be used. We also provide a simple one-page guide to suitable applications. If you missed this information, you can download the guide by clicking here.

While CPVC has proved to be very popular it is also very relevant to remember that there are many applications for which CPVC should not be used. Most obviously CPVC isn't suitable for applications listed as OH2, OH3, OH4 or High Hazard. However it is also important to remember that higher hazard conditions can exist within Light Hazard or OH1 occupancies, such as in commercial kitchens, plant rooms or store rooms. Where this occurs seek guidance from our Technical Department.
