Swissfluid full-port SCP Cylindrical Plug Valves are fully lined state of the art process valves (ANSI sizes 3" and up are only offered in reduced port configuration). They are unique process valves that have proven themselves in the most demanding chemical and petrochemical applications, as well in such diverse areas as pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, mining, and related industries. Our Cylindrical Plug Valves distinguish themselves with a maintenance-friendly construction and are therefore easily serviced in the field by qualified technicians. They are suitable for flanged piping systems in accordance with EN 1092 and ASME B16.5 specifications and the face to face dimensions adhere to EN 558-1 row 1 and ASME B16.10.
Depending on the intended use the metal-to-metal joined 2-part bodies are available in epoxy-coated 1.0619 cast steel (ASTM A216 WCB) or in solid 1.4408 stainless steel (CF-8M / AISI 316). Top mounting flanges in accordance with ISO 5211 allow quarter-turn actuators to be mounted directly to the valves, eliminating the need for mounting brackets or couplers.
A defining feature of Cylindrical Plug Valves is the blowout-proof 1-piece cylinder-stem assembly. Thanks to the straightforward cavity-free design maximum flow is achieved with minimal loss of pressure. The replaceable body lining, backed by elastomers, combine for a compact unit with low operating torque and continuous bubble tight shut off.
Long-lasting fluoropolymers of the highest quality such as PFA or PFA-AS (anti-static) are used as liner and cylinder encapsulation materials. For specific applications, cylinders can also be encapsulated with PVDF or ETFE, or can be furnished in solid 1-piece metal form made from SS316L, Titanium Gr. 2 or Hastelloy C. Standard versions have unobstructed cylindrical ports and all sizes are also available with V-ports for control applications or vent holes. The notched stem is an important additional safety feature that serves as the predetermined breaking point outside the valve. An appropriate safety factor has to be considered when mounting actuators!
Bubble tight shut-off over the whole pressure and temperature range (1mbar / 0.01 psi to 16 bar / 232psi; -40°C / -40°F to 200°C / 392°F) per EN 12266-1 and API 598 is made possible by the metal-to-metal joint of the 2 body halves and the maintenance-free dynamically-loaded stem, in accordance with TA Luft. The choice of body linings and ball encapsulations impact the referenced pressure and temperature ranges.
