Join Our Team: Marketing and E-Commerce Apprentice
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented apprentice to join our Marketing and Communications team at IPS Flow Systems. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about marketing, internal communications and digital platforms, and who is keen to learn within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
You will play a key role in helping us launch and maintain our new e-commerce platform, while also supporting a wide range of internal communication and marketing activities. You’ll report directly to the Marketing and Communications Manager and work closely with our Graphic Designer and E-commerce Lead, who is responsible for branding, website updates and maintaining the e-commerce platform.
This is a hands-on hybrid role with real responsibility, structured training and strong long-term development potential within the business.
Key Responsibilities
E-commerce Support
- Assist in preparing and uploading the full IPS product handbook
- Format, tag and categorise product data to improve customer search and navigation
- Manage and maintain the accuracy of data on the platform
- Upload new products, descriptions and specifications as our range evolves
- Review and respond to customer feedback about product listings and navigation
- Liaise with the sales team regularly to gather feedback on platform functionality and content
- Undertake product training to develop a strong understanding of our offering and customer needs
Internal Communications
- Help manage content on The Loop, our internal intranet
- Upload colleague news, updates, videos, events and announcements
- Coordinate colleague engagement features such as countdowns, birthdays and shout-outs
- Assist with planning and delivering internal campaigns and team activities
- Support the creation and distribution of the internal newsletter
- Work with departments to ensure internal messaging is relevant, timely and aligned
Document and Presentation Formatting
- Support the Design and E-commerce Lead with day-to-day formatting tasks
- Apply brand guidelines to PowerPoint presentations, Word documents and PDFs
- Help ensure internal materials are well formatted and visually consistent
- Assist with creating slide decks for internal meetings, training and business updates
- Prepare branded documents for use by teams across the business (not customer-facing)
General Marketing Support
- Export and organise product data and prepare reports where needed on e-commerce platform
- Assist with blog scheduling and contribute to internal and external content
- Support the website with basic updates as needed
- Help plan and deliver internal marketing campaigns, colleague initiatives and events
- Work with the wider team to gather content, maintain calendars and support communications planning
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills and Attributes
- A basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- A strong eye for detail and a high level of accuracy when dealing with data
- Confidence in working with structured information and content
- A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to ask questions and take initiative
- An interest in marketing, internal communication and digital platforms
- Curiosity and a desire to understand how our products and platforms support the business
- A basic understanding of how users interact with online tools (no coding required)
Training and Development
- You will be supported directly by the Marketing and Communications Manager
- Day-to-day mentoring will be provided by the Graphic Designer and E-commerce Lead
- You will have opportunities to work with other departments to understand how IPS operates
- You will receive hands-on training on the e-commerce platform, product data, internal platforms and content tools
- This role will offer a well-rounded introduction to marketing and internal communications in a B2B environment
