Our warehouse plays a vital role in giving customers what they want, when they want it. We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Operative to support safe, accurate goods handling, efficient picking and despatch, and excellent day to day warehouse standards.

Role overview

Working as part of a team, you will support inbound deliveries, stock control, picking and packing of customer orders, and general warehouse upkeep. You will also support customers at our trade counter when required.

Key responsibilities

• Safely receive and offload incoming deliveries
• Examine goods and match deliveries to supplier purchase orders
• Update the inventory management system and store stock in the correct locations
• Support stock rotation, including by expiry date where applicable
• Pick, pack and despatch customer orders to prevent damage and meet customer requirements
• Complete regular cycle stock counts
• Maintain safe, clean, tidy warehouse and storage yard areas
• Follow all health and safety rules and regulations
• Drive company vehicles as required

Essential experience and qualifications

• Minimum 2 years proven experience in a warehouse role
• Current forklift licence
• Full clean driving licence (Group B) held for a minimum of 2 years
• Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
• Comfortable with manual handling and a physically demanding role, including outdoor working and use of mobile plant

• Working hours: 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (no weekend work required)

• Holiday entitlement starting at 20 days per annum plus bank holidays, increasing up to 25 days plus bank holidays depending on length of service
• Christmas shutdown period between Christmas and New Year (in addition to annual leave entitlement)
